Set up Lisar with standard VPN clients and compatible routers

Choose the right Lisar setup path

Lisar supports standard setup paths so users can connect without relying on a proprietary Lisar app. The recommended setup path depends on the device, client support, and the connection information available in the Lisar panel.

For OpenVPN, download the .ovpn file from the panel, then open OpenVPN Connect and choose Upload File. For fallback scenarios, L2TP/IPsec setup may be available where supported.

OpenVPN setup should use the Lisar .ovpn profile file. The public setup path is: Download .ovpn file, open OpenVPN Connect, choose Upload File, import or save the profile, then connect.

Use this path for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and other supported OpenVPN client environments where file-upload setup is available.

L2TP/IPsec fallback setup

L2TP/IPsec is a fallback setup path for environments where it is supported and appropriate. Users should follow the exact connection information shown in the Lisar panel and confirm that their device or operating system supports the required configuration.

Router and network device setup

Router setup is intended for compatible routers and network devices that support the required VPN protocols. Compatibility depends on the device firmware, protocol support and available configuration options.

Business or custom router scenarios may require manual review before setup.

Before setting up Lisar, confirm that your profile is active, your plan supports the features you want to use, and you have access to the connection information shown in the Lisar panel.
