Lisar is designed for standard VPN setup methods. Instead of requiring a proprietary Lisar app, users can connect through supported clients, operating system setup paths and compatible routers depending on the selected profile and plan.

The setup path still matters: users must follow the connection information shown in the Lisar panel.

OpenVPN profile file for supported clients

For OpenVPN setup, Lisar uses a downloaded .ovpn profile file with OpenVPN Connect Upload File. This helps users add a profile using a standard client flow without relying on public manual OpenVPN credential instructions.

Router and device-level setup

Some users prefer to connect from a device-level client. Others may need compatible router setup for a network device. Lisar supports standard setup paths where the client, router or operating system supports the required configuration.

Not app-free, but not app-locked

Lisar does not remove the need for setup. Users still need a compatible client, supported device configuration, or compatible router. The difference is that the setup does not require a mandatory proprietary Lisar app.
