Use Lisar with OpenVPN Connect and a downloaded .ovpn file

Download a Lisar .ovpn file, open OpenVPN Connect, choose Upload File, Import/Save profile, and Connect using the documented setup path.

OpenVPN setup through profile file download

Download the .ovpn file, then open OpenVPN Connect and choose Upload File.

Lisar OpenVPN setup is based on a .ovpn profile file downloaded from the Lisar Panel. The supported public setup path is: download the .ovpn file, open OpenVPN Connect, choose Upload File, import or save the profile, then connect.

Use the exact file and any required profile-specific information supplied through the Lisar Panel. Do not expose or substitute manual credentials in public instructions.

Why Lisar uses standard clients

Lisar is designed around standard VPN setup methods. Users can connect through compatible clients and supported operating-system paths instead of being forced into a proprietary Lisar app.

This service-wide OpenVPN guidance is separate from the native Lisar application v1 scope, which is limited to OpenVPN-compatible profiles.

Where OpenVPN setup fits

Start with L2TP/IPsec where the device or router, firmware, and current network make it compatible and appropriate. OpenVPN is the operational alternative where L2TP/IPsec is unavailable, unsupported, or unsuitable.

OpenVPN Connect can upload a Lisar .ovpn profile in supported Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android environments. Android-facing OpenVPN emphasis applies only within current L2TP/IPsec platform or client availability limits.

This selection rule is based on compatibility, not a universal performance or security ranking.
