Before you start: compatibility and current support
Screens and available options vary by operating-system version, router model and firmware, device policy, and network rules. Confirm that the target device or router and current network support an appropriate L2TP/IPsec setup; compatibility is not universal.
When to use L2TP/IPsec
Start with L2TP/IPsec where the target operating system, router or firmware, and current network make it compatible and appropriate. Use OpenVPN as the operational alternative where L2TP/IPsec is unavailable, unsupported, or unsuitable.

Use only profile-specific values from Lisar
Use only the exact server, account, IPsec, credential, and other profile values supplied through the Lisar Panel for the active profile.
Do not guess server names, shared keys, credentials, fields, or values, and do not reuse setup material from another profile.
Generic L2TP/IPsec setup flow
Open the VPN settings on the compatible device or router, choose L2TP/IPsec where available, and enter the profile-specific connection values shown in the Lisar Panel.
Exact field names and screens vary by operating system, router, and firmware. Follow the official instructions for the actual platform instead of substituting model-specific steps from another device.
Compatibility and connection issues
If the connection fails, confirm current L2TP/IPsec support, the active profile, and that every value was copied exactly. Device policy, router firmware, or the current network can make this path unavailable or unsuitable.
Where that occurs, use the OpenVPN .ovpn alternative setup. For a router, first review its required VPN client-mode and compatibility guidance.
