Use Lisar Connect on an Android phone or tablet, or choose a manual connection method that your device supports. The app uses OpenVPN; older devices may also offer a built-in L2TP/IPsec option.

Conceptual illustration of compatible device setup. The Lisar app has its own sign-in and profile flow.
Lisar Connect is available on Google Play for Android phones and tablets, with an Android 7.0 minimum. Check the store listing for availability on your particular device.
The app obtains the eligible OpenVPN profile from your account, so this route does not require moving a file into a separate client. Profile availability depends on your account. There are no in-app purchases in the current Android release.
For a separate client, install OpenVPN Connect from its official Android listing. Download your active Lisar profile's .ovpn file to the phone, add a profile in the client, choose Upload File, and select it. Confirm the import, allow the Android VPN request and connect.
Menu labels can differ by client version. Keep the downloaded file private. If a certificate or account field appears that you cannot match to the profile, ask Lisar support before editing the configuration.
Some older Android phones and tablets still expose L2TP/IPsec in their built-in VPN settings. Availability varies with the manufacturer, software version and device policy; a version number alone is not enough to confirm support. If your VPN type menu only offers other protocols, follow the app or manual OpenVPN route above.
A compatible built-in L2TP/IPsec connection is separate from the Lisar Android app. The app itself currently uses OpenVPN. See the L2TP/IPsec guide for profile requirements.
Android power management, a work profile or a managed-device policy can affect VPN behavior. Check the connected state after switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data or waking the phone. If another VPN is already active, resolve that conflict before connecting this profile; do not assume that two VPN apps will run together.
For Chrome or Firefox on this phone, start with the Android VPN connection. A browser extension is not required. Android TV, Wear OS and Chromebook are different device targets; this phone and tablet app listing is not a claim of native support for them.
A saved configuration is not a connected tunnel. Confirm that your VPN client or system settings shows Connected, then open a website. After changing Wi-Fi, waking the device or switching to mobile data, check the status again.
If authentication fails, check the active profile and its connection values. If the VPN connects but browsing fails, check DNS and routing before changing the profile. If only one browser fails, review its proxy, secure DNS and other VPN extensions. Use the troubleshooting checklist for the next checks.
For support, provide your operating system, client version, protocol and a redacted error message. Do not send passwords, shared secrets, private keys or a complete profile in a public message.
